Job Title: Criminal Defence Duty Solicitor

 

Location: Birmingham, UK

 

Salary:  £50,000 + per annum DOE

 

Benefits: 5% commission on all billing

Role Overview:

The team are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Criminal Defence Duty Solicitor to join their team in Birmingham. The successful candidate will be responsible for representing clients in a wide range of criminal cases, including but not limited to, theft, assault, drug offences, and more. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with a diverse client base and make a real difference in people's lives.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Provide expert legal advice and representation to clients facing criminal charges.
  • Attend police stations and courts to represent clients during interviews and hearings.
  • Conduct thorough case preparation, including legal research, drafting legal documents, and preparing witness statements.
  • Advocate on behalf of clients in court proceedings, presenting arguments and evidence to support their defence.
  • Negotiate with prosecutors to achieve the best possible outcomes for clients.
  • Maintain accurate case records and ensure compliance with all relevant legal regulations and procedures.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Qualified Solicitor with significant experience in criminal defence work.
  • Duty Solicitor accreditation is essential.
  • Strong advocacy and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of criminal law and legal procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
