Senior Associate/Legal Director/Partner - Environmental Law
Location: Manchester
Salary: £80,000 - £150,000
Experience required: 5-10 Years PQE
About the Role
We are seeking an exceptional Environmental Law expert to join our innovative legal team, driving strategic environmental legal services and sustainable development solutions.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Environmental Law Strategy:
- Providing strategic advice on complex environmental regulatory compliance
- Supporting sustainable development initiatives
- Developing comprehensive environmental governance frameworks
- Managing high-stakes environmental litigation
- Advising on climate change and sustainability challenges
- Regulatory Compliance and Governance:
- Interpreting emerging environmental legislation
- Ensuring compliance with local and international environmental standards
- Supporting ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) strategies
- Advising on renewable energy and clean technology projects
- Managing environmental permitting and licensing processes
- Client Advisory Services:
- Delivering expert guidance to public and private sector clients
- Developing innovative environmental legal solutions
- Managing complex multi-jurisdictional environmental challenges
- Supporting infrastructure and development projects
- Providing strategic counsel on environmental impact assessments
- Business Development and Leadership:
- Building and maintaining strategic client relationships
- Developing new business opportunities
- Contributing to the firm's environmental law practice
- Producing thought leadership content
- Speaking at industry conferences and events
- Team Leadership and Mentorship:
- Leading and developing environmental law team
- Mentoring junior lawyers and associates
- Driving practice group innovation
- Contributing to firm's strategic direction
- Maintaining highest professional standards
What We're Looking For
Essential Requirements:
- Qualified Solicitor with:
- 5-10 years' post-qualification experience
- Demonstrable expertise in environmental law
- Strong track record of client service
- Leadership and strategic thinking capabilities
- Comprehensive understanding of:
- Environmental regulatory frameworks
- Sustainable development principles
- Climate change legislation
- ESG compliance mechanisms
- Exceptional strategic and analytical skills
- Outstanding communication and negotiation abilities
- Proven leadership and team management experience
- Commercial acumen and business development skills
Desirable:
- Advanced environmental law qualifications
- Experience in renewable energy sectors
- Background in infrastructure and development projects
- International environmental law expertise
- Publication or speaking experience in environmental law
