Private Client Solicitor/Fee Earner

Location: Chelmsford

Are you an experienced Private Client Solicitor or Fee Earner looking for genuine autonomy, high-quality work, and a supportive, forward-thinking environment?

Our client, a highly regarded law firm in Chelmsford, is seeking a talented professional to join their busy Private Client team. You’ll enjoy a high level of responsibility from day one, the chance to work closely with department leaders, and a clear path for career progression.

Your Role: Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

• Manage a varied caseload of Private Client matters, including:

  • Drafting Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney

  • Estate Administration, Trusts, and Taxation

  • Court of Protection cases

• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and referrers

• Deliver commercially minded, expert legal advice to both new and existing clients

• Support the Head of Department and collaborate with your team to achieve targets

• Contribute to business development and help grow the Private Client practice

What We’re Looking For: Key Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will have:

• A minimum of 2 years’ PQE as a Solicitor or equivalent experience as a Fee Earner

• Recent, relevant UK Private Client experience

• Strong technical skills in Wills, Probate, Trusts, Tax, and Court of Protection

• Excellent client care, communication, and organisational abilities

• A proactive, team-oriented approach and a passion for delivering outstanding service

• STEP qualification (or working towards) is highly desirable
