Senior Accountant / Accounting Manager
Salary: £45,000 to £60,000 + bonus
Location: Greater Leeds

Our client is a well-established, independent accountancy and business advisory firm in Leeds, continuing to grow and looking to add an experienced Senior Accountant / Accounting Manager to their team.
The role: what you’ll be doing
Statutory and management accounts
- Preparing statutory accounts, management accounts and VAT returns for a varied portfolio
- Ensuring work is completed accurately, on time, and to a consistently high standard
Client relationship management
- Acting as a trusted point of contact for clients, building long-term relationships
- Visiting client premises when needed to provide hands-on support and advice
Tax and technical support
- Supporting with tax compliance and advisory work, including:
- Reviewing corporation tax returns
- Assisting with capital allowance reviews
- Working closely with senior stakeholders to deliver practical, commercial solutions
Team support and mentoring
- Supporting and mentoring junior team members day-to-day
- Collaborating with Managers and Partners to deliver excellent client outcomes
Systems and technology
- Using practice software and cloud tools including IRIS, Xero, Sage and ProAudit
- Applying strong Excel capability to support reporting and analysis
What our client is looking for
To be considered, you should have:
- ACA or ACCA qualified (or exam finalist with strong relevant experience)
- 5+ years’ UK accountancy experience, ideally within a UK accountancy practice
- Proven experience preparing statutory accounts, management accounts and VAT returns
- Confidence working with UK owner-managed and family-run businesses
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain accounting matters clearly to clients
- Strong Excel skills and a positive approach to using tech to improve efficiency
Location and working arrangements
- Greater Leeds
- Flexible working patterns available (details to be discussed based on role level and team needs)
- Client visits form part of the role (as required)
