Residential Conveyancer
Location: Birmingham
Salary: £45,000 to £60,000 (depending on experience)
Experience: 5+ years’ residential conveyancing experience (running your own caseload)
Our client is looking to appoint an experienced Residential Conveyancer into its Residential Development team, based in Birmingham.
This is a busy, hands-on role within a specialist part exchange team, handling high-volume transactions with quick turnaround times. You will need to be confident running matters from instruction through to completion with minimal supervision, across both freehold and leasehold conveyancing.
You will manage a varied caseload of residential conveyancing transactions, including part exchange matters involving unregistered property. No prior part exchange or plot sales experience is required, but you must be comfortable working at pace and keeping files moving.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Running residential conveyancing transactions from initial instruction through to completion
- Drafting and issuing conveyancing paperwork
- Dealing with pre-contract enquiries
- Reviewing and reporting on title and searches
- Negotiating and exchanging contracts
- Managing completions and post-completion formalities
- Handling SDLT submissions and Land Registry registrations
- Keeping matters progressing efficiently to meet client turnaround expectations
What We’re Looking For
- Strong experience running a residential conveyancing caseload independently (ideally 5+ years’ experience)
- Experience handling both leasehold and freehold conveyancing
- Confidence dealing with title issues and reporting clearly
- Excellent organisation and file management skills
- Strong communication skills and a professional, client-focused approach
- Ability to prioritise effectively and work well under pressure
- Proactive mindset, attention to detail, and good IT skills
- Discretion and professionalism at all times
