The Role

Audit Leadership & Fieldwork Management:
Lead on-site audit fieldwork at clients' premises, taking full responsibility for assignment completion
Manage audit teams during fieldwork and coordinate activities to ensure efficient delivery
Complete audit files and ensure all documentation meets professional standards and regulatory requirements
Draft audited financial statements and prepare comprehensive audit reports
 
Client Relationship & Communication:
Liaise directly with clients' senior management building strong professional relationships
Communicate audit findings and recommendations clearly and professionally
Provide technical advice and guidance to clients on accounting and compliance matters
Represent the firm professionally during all client interactions and meetings
 
Technical Excellence & Reporting:
Report to Audit Managers or Partners providing regular updates on assignment progress
Ensure compliance with auditing standards and regulatory requirements
Review junior staff work and provide guidance and mentorship as required
Contribute to practice development through process improvement and knowledge sharing
 

What You'll Bring

Essential Qualifications & Experience:
ACA or ACCA qualified (or exam finalist with strong progression)
At least 2 years external audit experience in UK practice environment
Minimum 12 months experience leading on-site audit assignments and reporting to managers/partners
Strong accounts preparation experience with comprehensive technical knowledge
Full UK driving licence and access to a car for client site visits
 
Technical Skills & Competencies:
Extensive experience auditing UK owner-managed and family businesses reporting under FRS 102
Advanced Excel skills - essential for audit work and data analysis
Experience with ProAudit, IRIS, and SAGE software (highly desirable)
Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP, auditing standards, and regulatory requirements
Understanding of internal controls and risk assessment procedures
 
Professional Qualities:
Excellent communication abilities for client interaction and team collaboration
Leadership potential with ability to manage and motivate audit teams
Strong organisational skills to handle multiple assignments simultaneously
Team collaboration mindset with ability to work effectively across all experience levels
Professional presentation and client-facing confidence
Commitment to quality and attention to detail in all work
