Our client is building a market-leading Private Client function, focused on delivering strategic tax advice to individuals, entrepreneurs, and families. With strong growth across the Yorkshire and North East markets, they are seeking a Personal Tax Senior to join their Leeds office and play a key role in both compliance and advisory work.
The Role: Personal Tax Senior
Working as part of a collaborative Private Client team, you will support a diverse client base while developing your expertise across advisory projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage personal tax compliance obligations, including preparation and review of tax returns
- Support and contribute to private client advisory work, including:
- Capital Gains Tax (CGT)
- Inheritance Tax (IHT)
- Income tax planning
- Trusts and estates
- Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT)
- Gather and analyse client information for advisory engagements
- Liaise with clients, internal teams, and third parties to ensure smooth project delivery
- Identify tax planning opportunities within existing client portfolios
- Assist senior tax staff with complex queries and advisory projects
- Support client onboarding and preparation of risk management documentation
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of UK tax legislation and regulatory changes
About You
We are seeking a technically capable and client-focused professional with a strong foundation in private client tax.
Essential Requirements
- ATT qualified or AAT qualified (minimum); CTA part-qualified or studying desirable
- 2–5 years’ UK Practice experience in Personal Tax / Private Client Tax
- Strong working knowledge of:
- Income tax, CGT and IHT compliance
- Personal tax planning principles
- Proven experience in client-facing roles with excellent service delivery
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to identify advisory opportunities from compliance work
Desirable Skills
- Exposure to trusts, estates and complex tax advisory projects
- Experience working within a multi-disciplinary firm
- Full UK driving licence (advantageous)
