Audit Senior
Location: Lancaster
Salary: £35,000+ dependent on experience, plus performance-based bonus
Hours: 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Experience: ACA/ACCA qualified, with 3+ years’ UK practice audit experience
The Opportunity
A well-established Chartered Accountancy practice with almost 50 years of history is looking for a technically strong and proactive Audit Senior to join their team, as the audit department continues to grow.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys the variety of working with owner-managed businesses and wants a role where they can take real ownership,from planning right through to completion. The firm has a broad and specialist audit portfolio, including group consolidations, client money audits, academy schools, solicitors’ accounts rules, and grant claims, across a wide range of sectors including retail, manufacturing, haulage, and wholesale.
There is also flexibility to shape the role: this can be a pure audit position, or a mixed role incorporating accounts and tax production, depending on your preference.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading audit assignments end-to-end, with fieldwork both remotely and on-site at client premises
- Taking ownership of assignments from planning through to completion
- Supporting more complex work including group consolidations and statutory financial statement preparation
- Acting as a role model to junior staff, supporting on-the-job training and development
- Working closely with the Audit Manager and senior leadership team, with strong exposure and genuine development opportunities
What We’re Looking For
- ACA/ACCA qualified
- At least 3 years’ audit fieldwork experience within a small or medium-sized accountancy practice in the UK
- Solid working knowledge of UK GAAP
- Confident leading an audit on-site and working directly with business owners
- Able to travel to client premises, including occasional overnight stays where required
- Full UK driving licence
