Senior Associate – Property Disputes (Leasehold Enfranchisement)

Location: Manchester (hybrid working)

Salary: £80,000 to £100,000 plus bonus and benefits

Experience: 5+ years’ PQE (or equivalent)

A great opportunity for an experienced enfranchisement lawyer to take a key role within a specialist Property Disputes team, advising a broad client base across the public and private sectors.

The work is varied and technical, with strong client contact, negotiation and the chance to help shape the team’s profile through training and marketing activity.

You will support a dedicated leasehold enfranchisement team within Property Disputes, acting for a mix of landlords, investors, developers and tenants. The team provides comprehensive advice across the full range of enfranchisement services, with a focus on clear, practical guidance.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing statutory lease extension and enfranchisement claims, acting for both landlords and leaseholders

• Advising on collective enfranchisement claims, Right to Manage claims and tenants’ rights of first refusal

• Supporting clients on developments in enfranchisement reform

• Negotiating settlements and advising on proposed terms

• Building and maintaining strong client relationships

• Preparing clear written advice and reports in plain English

• Contributing to marketing and business development initiatives

• Taking part in firm-wide, office and departmental training sessions

• Ensuring files are managed in line with Lexcel procedures and compliance requirements

What We’re Looking For

Essential

• Qualified Solicitor in England and Wales

• 5+ years’ relevant PQE (or equivalent) in leasehold enfranchisement work

• Strong technical knowledge of freehold and leasehold enfranchisement

• Confident managing matters to deadlines with strong attention to detail

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to advise in plain English

• Client-focused approach with strong interpersonal and presentation skills

• Commercial awareness and sound judgement
