The Opportunity: Financial Planning Consultant
As a trusted adviser, you will work closely with clients to understand their financial objectives and deliver tailored solutions that help them achieve their personal and business goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide holistic, client-focused financial planning advice
- Build long-term relationships with private clients, business owners and professional contacts
- Manage and develop an existing client portfolio
- Conduct detailed fact-finding meetings and financial reviews
- Deliver advice across areas including:
- Retirement Planning
- Pension Advice
- Investment Planning
- Protection Solutions
- Estate and Inheritance Planning
- Ensure ongoing client servicing and regular financial reviews
- Generate new business through networking, referrals and professional introducer relationships
- Attend internal and external networking events
- Maintain up-to-date technical and regulatory knowledge
- Achieve agreed revenue and client service objectives
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across Tax, Accountancy and Advisory teams
What We're Looking For
We are keen to speak with ambitious advisers who combine strong technical expertise with an excellent client-focused approach.
Essential Requirements
- Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning (DipPFS or equivalent)
- Minimum 2–5 years' experience in a client-facing Financial Planning or Wealth Management advisory role
- Strong understanding of:
- FCA regulations
- Conduct of Business (COBS)
- Consumer Duty requirements
- FCA SYSC and compliance standards
- Financial planning and investment advice processes
- Proven ability to build and maintain trusted client relationships
- Excellent report-writing and suitability letter experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- High attention to detail and commitment to client outcomes
- Competent IT and CRM system skills
- Full UK Driving Licence
Desirable Requirements
- Level 6 Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning
- Chartered Financial Planner status or working towards Chartered designation
- Experience advising business owners and high-net-worth individuals
- Understanding of wider professional services including Tax, Corporate Finance and Accountancy
- Established local professional network
