Employment Solicitor (Associate)

Location: Manchester

Salary: £55,000 to £75,000 plus bonus and benefits

Experience: Employment solicitor experience (tribunal process, exits and litigation)

This is a full-time, permanent opportunity in Manchester with hybrid working (following probation), supporting on executive exits, litigation (mainly claimant) and wider support to a Company and Commercial team under supervision.

You’ll manage a busy employment caseload with a focus on executive exits and employment litigation, with a good amount of tribunal work. You’ll also support broader commercial matters where needed, working closely with senior colleagues and developing your skills over time.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Managing executive exits

• Handling employment litigation matters (mainly claimant)

• Managing matters through the employment tribunal process

• Assisting a Company and Commercial team under supervision

• Drafting clear, accurate correspondence and legal documents

• Advising clients with a practical, client-friendly approach

• Managing deadlines and progressing matters efficiently

What We’re Looking For

• Strong knowledge of the employment tribunal process

• Friendly, professional client care and confident communication (verbal and written)

• Ability to explain technical legal detail clearly and concisely

• Organised, methodical approach with strong attention to detail

• Ability to work quickly and accurately to meet deadlines

• Excellent telephone manner

• Confident IT skills and ability to learn quickly

• Able to prioritise work under supervision and manage pressure well

• Team player who can also work on their own initiative

• Flexible, proactive, can-do attitude

Nice to Have

• Respondent litigation experience

• Experience advising employers on non-contentious employment matters

Experience and Qualifications

• Current Practising Certificate

• Relevant post-qualification experience in employment law

Working Arrangements
