Clinical Negligence Solicitor / Legal Executive
Location: Manchester
Salary: £45,000 to £75,000 plus bonus and benefits
Experience: Claimant clinical negligence experience (running your own caseload)
If you’re a claimant Clinical Negligence Solicitor or Legal Executive who takes real pride in client care and technical quality, this is a strong opportunity to join a growing team handling a mix of complex, high-value work and more straightforward claims.
This is a full-time role based in Manchester, with flexibility to be based from another branch location for experienced candidates.
You’ll run your own claimant clinical negligence caseload and support the wider team as your caseload grows. Matters are multi-track, and caseload size is managed based on complexity. You’ll have support from colleagues, including paralegal and secretarial support where needed.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Running a caseload of claimant clinical negligence matters
- Managing files end-to-end, from initial instruction through to archiving, in line with office and accounts procedures
- Taking instructions from clients and advising accordingly
- Instructing counsel and other experts where appropriate
- Representing clients at court, including advocacy where appropriate
- Obtaining and preparing file documentation
- Maintaining and developing legal knowledge and skills
- Supporting business development activity
- Assisting other team members with dedicated tasks as required while your caseload grows
What We’re Looking For
- Experience running a claimant clinical negligence caseload (exclusively or predominantly)
- Strong client care, with the ability to communicate clearly and sensitively
- High attention to detail, with a thorough and efficient approach
- Comfortable working to strict deadlines and prioritising workload
- Confident presenting and arguing a case orally and in writing
- Strong technical ability, explaining complex issues in a clear, client-friendly way
- Able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team
- Flexible, can-do attitude
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Confident IT skills, including Windows, Word, MS Teams and Excel
- Working knowledge of the Solicitors Code of Conduct
Experience and Qualifications
- Current Practising Certificate (or equivalent)
- APIL Litigator / Senior Litigator accreditation (as commensurate with experience)
