Employment Law Partner / Director

Location: London (or National UK Offices)

Salary: £120,000 – £180,000+ DOE/Following (& Fee share)

Are you a senior Employment Partner or Director with a strong client following or established referral network looking for a leading national platform? Our client, a top-tier, nationally recognised law firm with over 1,000 colleagues across 13 UK offices is seeking an accomplished Employment specialist to play a key role in driving the growth and strategic direction of their highly ranked employment team.

The Opportunity

In this high-impact strategic role, you will lead and expand a thriving employment practice while delivering specialist advisory services to an impressive portfolio of PLCs, SMEs, and senior executives. You will handle complex contentious and non-contentious matters, including TUPE, discrimination, restructures, whistleblowing, and high-value Tribunal litigation, backed by cutting-edge legal technology, a dedicated Professional Skills Employment Lawyer, and in-house Counsel support. Offering exceptional autonomy, this position allows you to leverage an established national brand to scale your client base.

Key Responsibilities & Requirements

  • Qualifications & Experience: Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) operating at Senior Solicitor, Partner, or Director level with extensive UK practice experience in employment law.

  • Client Following (Essential): Proven track record of senior fee generation supported by an established, portable client following or strong referral network.

  • Technical Mastery: Comprehensive expertise across contentious and non-contentious employment matters, strategic HR advisory, corporate support, and Tribunal representation.

  • Leadership & BD: Strong business development acumen with a track record of team leadership, mentoring junior fee earners, and contributing to firm-wide growth strategies.

Package & Benefits

  • Remuneration: Flexible fee-share or competitive market-rate salary models tailored to portable business levels and experience.

  • Work-Life Balance: Flexible and hybrid working models across 13 modern UK office locations (including London, Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, Bristol, Derby, and Nottingham).

  • Protection & Perks: Comprehensive pension scheme, health and well-being support, enhanced family-friendly policies, and active diversity and inclusion initiatives (Investors in People Silver).

  • Operational Backing: Advanced legal tech infrastructure, dedicated marketing support, and firm-wide cross-selling opportunities across full-service practice areas.
