Audit Assistant Manager

Location: Doncaster

Salary: £45,000 – £52,000+ DOE

Our client is a leading, multi-office accountancy firm with a strong presence in Doncaster. Known for their forward-thinking client service, high audit standards, and collaborative culture, they are looking for a dedicated audit professional to join their expanding assurance team.

The Opportunity

In this key step-up role, you will work closely with Audit Managers and Partners, taking direct responsibility for supervising and executing audit assignments from planning through to completion. Acting as a key contact for a diverse client portfolio across South Yorkshire, you will lead on-site teams, conduct technical file reviews, and help mentor junior staff. Positioned within an expanding department, this role offers high visibility and a clear roadmap for career advancement to full Audit Manager level.

Key Responsibilities & Requirements

• Qualifications & Experience: ACA or ACCA qualified (or finalist with imminent sign-off) with a minimum of 3–4+ years’ UK accountancy practice experience, with significant exposure to external audit.

• Technical Mastery: Proven expertise in leading, planning, and completing audit engagements under UK GAAP (FRS 102) and International Standards on Auditing (ISAs).

• Supervision & Review: Strong track record of supervising junior audit staff, conducting file reviews, and providing constructive feedback on-site and in the office.

• Client Engagement: Confident communication and interpersonal skills, with the commercial mindset needed to build trusted relationships with client finance teams and business owners.

Package & Benefits

• Base Salary: £45,000 – £52,000 per annum (dependent on experience and qualification status, aligned with South Yorkshire market rates).
