Job Description
Legal Partner
Location: Yorkshire (Leeds & Regional Hubs)
Salary: £110,000 – £140,000 + Equity/Partner Profit Share & Full Team-Building Backing
Are you an established Partner or Senior Practice Director with a portable client following who is ready to scale your practice without being bogged down by administrative burdens? Our client is a dynamic, commercially minded national law firm rapidly expanding its footprint across Yorkshire and the regional markets. Built around long-term client relationships and doing law differently, they offer an environment where high-performing lawyers get total operational independence paired with full structural backing. Whether your expertise lies in Corporate, Commercial, Real Estate, Private Client, Employment, or Dispute Resolution, our client is seeking ambitious Partners across General Legal Practice to lead practice areas, build dedicated teams, and deliver bespoke legal solutions with direct C-Suite and operational support.
The Opportunity
In this high-profile equity-track role, you will take lead operational responsibility for driving and scaling your practice area within the firm’s Yorkshire hubs. Rather than battling bureaucratic overhead, you will receive full financial backing, a dedicated internal marketing engine, and comprehensive HR and recruitment support to hire and nurture junior talent under your leadership. Designed for a commercially sharp practitioner with a proven track record of fee generation, this role enables you to focus on high-value client advisory, leverage a national cross-referral network, and share directly in the growth and profitability of the firm.
Key Responsibilities & Requirements
-
Qualifications & Experience: Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) with a minimum of 8+ years’ post-qualification experience (PQE) across General Legal Practice areas (including Corporate/Commercial, Real Estate, Dispute Resolution, Private Client, or Employment) within a recognised UK practice.
-
Portable Client Following: Demonstrable track record of fee generation and an established, portable client following (essential) to anchor and expand your practice within Yorkshire and across national hubs.
-
Practice Building & Team Leadership: Strategic capability to build, mentor, and expand a practice team using the firm’s dedicated HR, recruitment, and marketing infrastructure.
-
Bespoke Advisory & Business Development: Passion for delivering tailored, commercial legal advice and expanding your client network through targeted business development and cross-departmental referrals.
-
Commercial Acumen: Strong practice management skill set with an appetite to engage directly with senior leadership on growth strategies and equity progression.
Package & Working Structure
-
Competitive Remuneration: £110,000 – £140,000 base compensation per annum (commensurate with PQE, area of expertise, and size of portable following) plus lucrative Partner profit distribution and equity options.
-
Agile & Hybrid Structure: Modern hybrid working arrangements based out of Yorkshire regional hubs—offering complete trust and autonomy over where and how you work best.
-
Comprehensive Healthcare & Benefits: Private Medical Insurance (Vitality), Cash Plan (Medicash), salary sacrifice pension scheme (NEST), and an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) extended to family members.
-
Leave & Flexibility: 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, your birthday off (increasing with service), and enhanced wellbeing and family-friendly policies.
-
Culture & Perks: Direct C-Suite and Senior Partner access from day one, dedicated recruitment/HR assistance to scale your desk, regular CSR events, seasonal celebrations, referral bonuses, free fruit/drinks, and team lunches.
