Senior Contentious Probate Partner

If you are a senior contentious probate specialist looking for a role where you can lead from the front, shape a practice, and build something with real backing behind it, this is a standout opportunity.

Our client is looking to appoint a senior Contentious Probate practitioner at Partner level to develop, lead and grow its contentious trusts and probate offering. You will take responsibility for generating work, running your own high-value caseload, and supervising and mentoring a small but developing team.

This is a leadership hire for someone with a strong track record in contentious trusts and probate. You will be given the platform to mould the team’s direction, supported by a well-regarded wider litigation group and a strong private client function that provides a solid referral base.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Leading the contentious trusts and probate offering from the Wolverhampton office, with scope to shape the team’s direction and growth

• Generating work and developing client relationships, with responsibility for building a sustainable pipeline

• Running a high-value contentious probate caseload, managing matters from instruction through to resolution

• Supervising and supporting a small team, including mentoring, training and quality control

• Taking on and progressing an existing and growing caseload, alongside developing new matters

• Working closely with colleagues across litigation and private client to deliver joined-up advice

• Managing risk, strategy and costs exposure across complex disputes

What We’re Looking For

• Qualified Solicitor in England and Wales with 8+ years’ PQE (or equivalent experience) focused on contentious trusts and probate

• Likely already operating at Partner level, with a clear track record of leading on contentious probate matters

• Strong experience running high-value cases and managing a varied caseload

• Proven ability to generate work and maintain long-term client relationships

• Experience supervising, mentoring and developing colleagues

• Commercial, pragmatic approach with strong judgement and attention to detail

• Confident communicator who can represent the team internally and externally
