Job Description

Audit Senior (Associate Level)

Salary: Up to £45,000

Location: Sheffield

Clear progression and a supportive team culture

If you’re an Audit Senior who wants more than just another busy season, this is a brilliant opportunity to join our client, a well-established accountancy practice in Sheffield, where you’ll get real ownership of your work, exposure to a varied client base.

This role suits someone who enjoys delivering high-quality audits, building strong client relationships, and working in a team that values doing things properly (without the unnecessary politics).

The Role: Audit Senior (Associate)

You’ll take a lead role on audit assignments from planning through to completion, working closely with managers and partners while supporting junior team members.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Leading audit fieldwork on-site and/or at client premises, ensuring work is delivered to a high standard
  • Planning audits, preparing audit programmes and coordinating timelines
  • Preparing and reviewing audit files and ensuring completion of audit documentation
  • Drafting accounts and reports and assisting with completion meetings
  • Building strong working relationships with clients and acting as a day-to-day contact
  • Supporting and mentoring junior colleagues where needed

Requirements (What you’ll need)

To be a strong fit, you’ll ideally have:
  • 3+ years’ UK accountancy practice experience (audit-focused)
  • Proven experience leading audits from planning to completion
  • ACA / ACCA qualified or finalist (or equivalent)
  • Strong technical grounding in: audit methodology, risk assessment, and file completion
  • Confidence using audit software and Excel (pivot tables, reconciliations, working papers)
  • A professional, client-facing approach and the ability to manage deadlines
If you’re slightly under/over on experience but the role sounds aligned, it’s still worth a conversation.

Location & Working Arrangement

  • Location: Sheffield
  • Working pattern: Hybrid working is available (details can be discussed based on your preferences and the team’s schedule)
  • You should be able to commute to Sheffield for office days and client work as required

Salary & Benefits

  • Salary: Up to £45,000 (dependent on experience and qualification level)
