Employment Partner

Location: Manchester

Salary: £95,000 to £165,000 (plus bonus)

Experience: Senior employment lawyer with a respondent client following and the ability to grow a practice

 

If you’re an employment lawyer who can win and retain respondent work, and you want the space to build something, this is a blank canvas Partner opportunity in Manchester.

Our client has an established employment presence across Leeds and Liverpool within a small team. They are now looking to strengthen the Manchester offering with a Partner who can grow the practice, with a clear focus on developing respondent-side work.

There is already a source of claimant work, but the priority for this hire is someone who can tackle the respondent market and bring a following. The firm is open-minded on how the role is shaped for the right person.

 

What You’ll Be Doing

• Leading and growing the employment practice from Manchester, with a focus on respondent-side advisory and contentious work

• Building and maintaining a respondent client following, developing new relationships and strengthening existing ones

• Working collaboratively with colleagues across Leeds and Liverpool as part of a small, spread team

• Supporting the wider business plan through business development and market-facing activity

• Helping shape the service offering, processes and team structure as the practice grows

 

What We’re Looking For

• Strong employment law experience at a senior level, with the credibility to lead a practice

• A respondent client following and a track record of generating work

• Commercial, relationship-led approach to business development

• Confident, pragmatic adviser with strong communication skills

• Collaborative mindset and the ability to work across offices as needed
