Family Lawyer
Location: Manchester
Salary: £45,000 to £70,000 plus bonus and benefits
Experience: Family law experience (legal aid and/or private family work)

This is a full-time opportunity in a growing Manchester office, with the chance to help develop a caseload and make a real impact as the team continues to expand.
You’ll handle a varied family caseload and support clients through sensitive, high-stakes situations with professionalism and care. The team is open-minded on background, and interested in the right person with the right approach.
The role can suit someone with a strong legal aid focus (including care proceedings, child arrangements and domestic abuse), and/or someone with solid private family experience (divorce and separation, related finance work, and private child arrangements matters).
What You’ll Be Doing
- Running your own caseload of client matters
- Managing matters from initial instruction through to conclusion, including applying for legal aid where appropriate
- Drafting statements, applications and other court pleadings
- Handling new client enquiries
- Undertaking advocacy in court where required
What We’re Looking For
- Professional, friendly client care and strong communication skills
- Ability to deal with technical detail and explain solutions clearly and in a client-friendly way
- Confidence presenting and arguing a case orally in court and in writing
- Organised, methodical approach with strong attention to detail
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently to meet deadlines
- Confident IT skills and willingness to learn
- Able to prioritise work under supervision and manage pressure well
- Team player who can also work on their own initiative when appropriate
Nice to Have
- Legal aid experience, including care proceedings, child arrangements and domestic abuse matters
- Law Society Children Panel membership
- Regular experience conducting your own advocacy
