Semi Senior Accountant 

Location: Stockport Area

Salary: c.£35k DOE

About the Role:
An established and growing accountancy practice in Manchester is seeking a Semi Senior Accountant to join their team. This role is ideal for a motivated individual looking to take the next step in their career, working in a dynamic environment with a varied client portfolio. You will receive full support towards further qualifications and career progression within the firm.

Duties:

  • Accounts Preparation: Assist in the preparation of statutory year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
  • Tax Compliance: Prepare VAT returns, personal tax returns, and corporation tax computations.
  • Bookkeeping & Management Accounts: Maintain client records, prepare management accounts, and assist with financial reporting.
  • Software Utilisation: Work with leading accounting software, including Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, and other cloud-based platforms.
  • Client Interaction: Liaise with clients to gather financial information, resolve queries, and provide accounting support.

About You:

  • Experience: At least 2 years of experience in an accountancy practice, with exposure to accounts preparation, tax returns, and bookkeeping.
  • Qualifications: AAT qualified or currently studying towards ACA/ACCA (study support provided).
  • Software Skills: Comfortable using accounting software such as Xero, Sage, and QuickBooks.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for accuracy.
  • Communication: Confident in client-facing interactions with the ability to explain financial matters clearly.
  • Ambition: Looking to progress within a supportive practice, with a desire to continue professional development.
