Audit Manager

Location: Bolton
Salary: £52,000 – £60,000 per annum- (DOE)

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

A respected and growing accountancy firm is looking for an experienced Audit Manager to join their team.

This role suits someone with strong audit experience, team leadership skills, and a proactive approach to client service.

What you’ll do

• Lead and deliver audit assignments from planning to completion

• Be the main point of contact for clients throughout engagements

• Supervise and support junior staff, giving feedback and guidance

• Prepare and manage budgets, track progress and resolve variances

• Oversee billing and ensure engagements stay within budget

• Ensure full compliance with accounting and auditing standards

• Handle admin and ad hoc duties that support project delivery

What you’ll need

• ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification

• Strong audit background within a UK accountancy firm

• Solid understanding of auditing and accounting standards (FRS, IFRS)

• Experience reviewing and improving junior team members’ work

• Strong risk awareness and attention to detail

• Good analytical and problem-solving skills

• Familiarity with CaseWare or CCH is helpful but not essential
