Job Title: Bookkeeper
Location: Liverpool
Salary: £25,000 – £30,000 (DOE)
Full-time | Office Based

We’re recruiting for a Bookkeeper on behalf of a well-established practice based in Liverpool.

You’ll manage bookkeeping and VAT return submissions for a varied portfolio of SME clients, with scope to grow the role as Making Tax Digital expands.

What you’ll be doing:

• Maintain accurate bookkeeping records for a range of clients

• Process sales, purchases, bank reconciliations, and journals

• Prepare and submit VAT returns under different VAT schemes

• Communicate directly with clients to request information and resolve queries

• Use cloud accounting systems such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage

• Help develop the firm's digital bookkeeping offering as MTD grows

What we’re looking for:

• At least 2 years’ practice experience in a bookkeeping role, ideally within an accountancy firm

• Confident handling multiple clients and working to deadlines

• Strong working knowledge of cloud accounting software

• Attention to detail and solid understanding of VAT rules

• Willingness to adapt and grow as digital services expand

• Full UK working rights- Unable to offer sponsorship
