Salary: £75,000 - £110,000

About the Role
We are seeking an exceptional Senior Data Protection & AI Governance Lawyer to join our innovative legal team. This role requires a sophisticated understanding of emerging technologies, data protection regulations, and AI legal frameworks.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Data Protection Strategy:
- Providing strategic advice on complex data protection matters
- Developing comprehensive AI governance frameworks
- Advising on GDPR and international data protection compliance
- Conducting thorough data protection impact assessments
- Managing cross-border data transfer challenges
- AI Governance Advisory:
- Developing legal strategies for AI implementation
- Advising on ethical AI development
- Creating governance frameworks for algorithmic decision-making
- Assessing legal risks in AI technologies
- Supporting responsible AI innovation
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Interpreting emerging data protection legislation
- Ensuring compliance with UK and international regulations
- Developing comprehensive compliance strategies
- Advising on data breach response and management
- Supporting technology and innovation teams
- Client Advisory Services:
- Providing expert guidance to technology and innovation clients
- Developing innovative legal solutions
- Managing complex regulatory challenges
- Supporting strategic technology initiatives
- Delivering clear, actionable legal advice
What We're Looking For
Essential Requirements:
- Qualified Solicitor with:
- 5-8 years' post-qualification experience
- Demonstrable expertise in data protection law
- Strong understanding of AI governance
- Comprehensive knowledge of:
- GDPR and UK data protection regulations
- International data protection frameworks
- AI technology legal implications
- Emerging technology governance
- Exceptional analytical and strategic thinking skills
- Outstanding communication abilities
- Ability to translate complex legal concepts
Desirable:
- Additional technology law qualifications
- Experience in tech sector legal advisory
- Understanding of machine learning frameworks
- Knowledge of international technology regulations
