Location: Manchester

Salary: £55,000 - £75,000

About the Role

We are seeking a talented Planning Law Associate to join our dynamic legal team, specializing in strategic property and development legal services.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Planning Law Advisory:
    • Providing strategic advice on planning applications
    • Supporting infrastructure and development projects
    • Advising on land use and development regulations
    • Managing complex planning negotiations
    • Preparing comprehensive planning documentation
  • Regulatory Compliance:
    • Interpreting planning and development legislation
    • Ensuring compliance with local and national planning policies
    • Advising on environmental and sustainability considerations
    • Supporting client risk management strategies
    • Navigating complex regulatory landscapes
  • Client Engagement:
    • Delivering expert guidance to public and private sector clients
    • Managing client relationships
    • Providing clear and strategic legal advice
    • Supporting clients through planning challenges
    • Developing innovative solutions to planning issues
  • Project Management:
    • Coordinating planning application processes
    • Liaising with local authorities and stakeholders
    • Managing complex multi-site development projects

  • Professional Development:
    • Contributing to the firm's planning law practice

What We're Looking For

Essential Requirements:

  • Qualified Solicitor with:
    • 2-5 years' post-qualification experience
    • Demonstrable expertise in planning law
    • Strong track record of client service
  • Comprehensive understanding of:
    • Planning and development regulations
    • Land use and property development
    • Local authority planning processes
    • Infrastructure project requirements
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
  • Ability to manage complex planning matters
  • Commercial awareness and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in managing multiple projects

Desirable:

  • Additional planning law qualifications
  • Experience in infrastructure and development sectors
