HNW work + real platform to grow

If you’re a Private Client specialist who’s built a strong reputation and you’re looking for a role that combines high-quality client work with a clear, supported opportunity to grow a London practice, this is worth a confidential conversation. Our client is a well-established, multi-office UK law firm known for strong client service and a positive internal culture.

This is a full-time, permanent opportunity in Central London, ideal for a senior lawyer who enjoys advising sophisticated clients, building trusted relationships, and taking a visible role in business development and team leadership.

The Opportunity

You’ll join a high-performing Private Client team and play a key role in the ongoing growth of the London offering. The position offers a broad, quality caseload, autonomy, and the chance to make a genuine impact—within a collaborative, well-supported environment.

Working arrangement: London office-based with flexibility depending on client and business needs.

Travel / hours: Some travel and occasional out-of-hours work will be required for business development, meetings, and training.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting into the Head of Department, you will:
  • Take ownership of a varied Private Client caseload, advising on:
    • Wills
    • Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs)
    • Estate administration
    • Trusts
    • Inheritance Tax (IHT) planning, including HNW/UHNW matters and multi-jurisdictional assets
    • Care home fee planning
  • Deliver against agreed targets (fees, chargeable hours, BD), with minimal supervision
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and professional referrers
  • Play a leading role in business development, including generating and nurturing a network of introducers
  • Support the wider team through delegation, cross-referrals, and collaboration
  • Contribute to the development and mentoring of junior colleagues
  • Maintain high standards of file management and compliance in line with internal procedures and quality standards

Requirements (What We’re Looking For)

To be considered, you should be able to demonstrate:
  • Solicitor qualification in England & Wales (or equivalent relevant qualification)
  • Minimum 11 years’ PQE with strong, current Private Client experience
  • Proven capability managing a broad Private Client caseload including IHT planning, trusts, estates, LPAs and wills
  • Experience advising HNW / UHNW clients (including exposure to multi-jurisdictional assets)
  • Strong business development track record (or clear evidence of generating work and building referrer relationships)
  • Confidence using case management systems and Microsoft Office
  • A leadership mindset: collaborative, commercially aware, and supportive in developing others

Salary & Benefits

Salary: £95,000–£120,000 (dependent on experience) plus bonus/benefits package.

Benefits include:
  • Enhanced annual leave plus all UK Bank Holidays
  • Birthday leave (or nearest working day)
  • Additional festive leave: Christmas Eve (full day) and New Year’s Eve (half day PM) (when on working days)
  • Private healthcare options (Bupa) for you and your family
  • Healthcare cashback plan (dental, optical, physio etc.) at no cost for you and eligible family members
  • Enhanced pension with 5% employer match
  • Option to buy up to 5 extra days’ holiday
  • Group life assurance at 4x salary
  • Ongoing support and development, with scope for career progression aligned to performance and growth contribution
