Family Law Senior Associate (8–10+ PQE)
Salary: £75,000–£95,000 + bonus
Location: London

The Opportunity

Join a high-performing Family team handling a broad mix of high-net-worth financial remedy and private children matters, with scope to develop a specialism and play a visible role in the team’s growth. You’ll have the backing of experienced Partners, a collaborative environment, and clear routes to progress as the department continues to expand.

Key Responsibilities

High-quality fee earning and case ownership
  • Manage a varied Family caseload including HNW financial remedyprivate children (Children Act)TOLATAinjunctive relief, and elements of international family work
  • Deliver commercially sound advice with a strong focus on client care and outcomes
  • Work with a high level of autonomy, while reporting into senior leadership within the department
Business development and profile building
  • Contribute to the team’s growth through referrals, networking, and relationship building
  • Attend meetings and events as required (some travel and occasional out-of-hours activity will be involved)
Team contribution and supervision
  • Support and supervise junior colleagues, sharing knowledge and helping to raise standards across the team
  • Maintain strong compliance with internal quality procedures and systems

What Our Client Is Looking For

Essential requirements
  • Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales (or equivalent UK-recognised qualification)
  • 8–10+ years’ PQE in Family law (Senior Associate level capability)
  • Demonstrable experience managing:
    • High-net-worth financial remedy negotiations and proceedings
    • Children Act proceedings
    • TOLATA disputes
    • Injunctive applications (desirable but advantageous)
  • Proven ability to run matters with minimal supervision and deliver against targets
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with confidence advising demanding clients
Technical and practical skills
  • Working knowledge of case management systems and Microsoft Office
  • Strong organisation, prioritisation, and deadline management
  • A measured, professional approach with high integrity and discretion

Salary, Benefits & Working Arrangement

Salary: £75,000–£95,000 (guideline range for London Senior Associate Family hires; final package dependent on PQE and HNW exposure)
