Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 DOE + Hybrid Working

This opportunity is ideal for a qualified practice professional who enjoys managing client relationships, leading audits from planning through to completion, and developing high-performing teams.

The Opportunity

As Audit Manager, you will play a key role in managing and delivering audit assignments, ensuring technical excellence and exceptional client service standards across a varied portfolio.

You will work closely with senior leadership and have the opportunity to contribute to the continued growth and development of the audit function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver external audit assignments from planning through to completion
  • Manage both on-site and remote audit engagements
  • Review audit files, working papers, and financial statements
  • Ensure compliance with UK auditing standards (ISA UK) and financial reporting requirements
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships across a varied portfolio
  • Manage deadlines, workflow planning, and team resourcing
  • Mentor, coach, and develop junior members of the audit team
  • Provide technical support and practical solutions to clients and colleagues
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and enhance client service delivery

 

About You

We are keen to speak with candidates who possess:

  • ACA or ACCA qualification (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 5+ years’ UK accountancy practice experience
  • Proven experience operating at Audit Senior or Audit Manager level
  • Strong technical knowledge of:
    • UK GAAP
    • FRS 102
    • UK auditing standards
    • Audit planning and file review processes
  • Experience managing multiple audit assignments simultaneously
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Previous experience supervising or mentoring junior staff
  • A proactive and client-focused approach

Experience using cloud-based audit and accounting software would be advantageous.
