Are you an experienced Audit and Accounts professional looking for a role where you can take ownership, build strong client relationships, and progress within a supportive and stable practice?
Our Team is working with our client, a highly regarded independent accountancy practice in the Lancaster area, to recruit a Senior Audit & Accounts Professional to support their growing portfolio of audit and accounts clients.

The Opportunity
This is a varied role combining audit fieldwork and accounts preparation, working closely alongside the Audit Manager and wider leadership team.
You will lead audit assignments on-site, support planning and completion processes, and work directly with clients across a diverse portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead audit fieldwork assignments from planning through to completion
- Prepare and review year-end accounts
- Support audit planning and completion processes
- Build and maintain strong client relationships
- Work closely with managers to ensure deadlines and quality standards are met
- Support and mentor junior team members where appropriate
- Liaise directly with clients to resolve queries and provide support
- Contribute to process improvements and workflow efficiencies
About You
We are keen to speak with candidates who possess:
- ACA / ACCA qualification or part qualification
- Minimum 3-5 years’ UK accountancy practice experience
- Strong audit and accounts experience within a UK practice environment
- Experience leading audit fieldwork assignments
- Working knowledge of:
- UK GAAP
- FRS 102
- Xero
- CCH software (preferred but not essential)
- Strong communication and client management skills
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
- A positive, adaptable, and team-focused approach
Experience working with clients in agriculture, solicitors, hospitality, leisure, or owner-managed businesses would be highly advantageous.
