Location: Bury (Hybrid Working)

The Role: Accounts & Audit Senior

Due to continued growth, our client is seeking an Accounts & Audit Senior to join their Bury office, working within a dynamic and collaborative team.

This is a varied role with approximately 75% audit and 25% accounts and advisory work, offering excellent all-round experience.

 

Key Responsibilities

Audit Delivery & Technical Excellence

  • Lead and complete statutory audits from planning through to completion
  • Prepare and review financial statements under UK GAAP (FRS 102/FRS 105)
  • Ensure compliance with UK auditing standards (ISA UK)
  • Deliver high-quality, efficient audit engagements

Accounts & Advisory

  • Produce year-end accounts for a range of corporate clients
  • Support on ad hoc advisory and business projects
  • Work collaboratively with tax and advisory teams

Client Engagement

  • Develop strong, trusted client relationships from day one
  • Act as a key point of contact for client queries
  • Deliver excellent client service across a varied portfolio

Team Leadership & Development

  • Supervise, coach and review work of junior team members
  • Contribute to training and development initiatives
  • Identify improvements in audit quality and efficiency

Career Progression

  • Clear pathway to Assistant Manager, Manager and senior leadership roles
  • Opportunity to lead audits and report directly to Responsible Individuals

 

About You

To be considered for this role, you should have:

  • ACA or ACCA part-qualified or fully qualified
  • 2–4+ years’ UK accountancy practice experience, with strong audit exposure
  • Proven experience in leading or assisting on audit assignments
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP and auditing standards
  • Experience preparing statutory accounts
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work effectively under pressure
  • A proactive, organised and solutions-focused mindset

 

Working Arrangements

  • Regular travel to client sites across Lancashire and Greater Manchester
