Job Description

Private Client Solicitor

Location: Kent

Salary: £50,000 – £65,000+ DOE/PQE

Are you an ambitious Private Client Solicitor looking to join a well-regarded, people-focused legal practice with deep roots in the local community? Our client is a highly respected regional law firm operating across Kent, celebrated for combining high-caliber technical standards with an accessible, client-first approach. Seeking an experienced Private Client Solicitor (c. 3+ years PQE) to join their established department, our client offers an environment where you can manage a varied caseload, build lasting relationships with high-net-worth individuals and families, and enjoy genuine work-life balance alongside clear, merit-based career progression.

The Opportunity

Joining a collaborative and experienced team, you will take full ownership of a broad private client caseload across Kent and the surrounding villages. Working alongside department partners, you will advise on estate planning, wealth protection, complex probate, and trust matters. Designed for a client-focused practitioner who values autonomy, direct client contact, and community engagement, this role provides an ideal platform to deepen your technical expertise while contributing directly to the strategic growth of a respected regional practice.

Key Responsibilities & Requirements

  • Qualifications & Experience: Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) with approximately 3+ years’ post-qualification experience (PQE) specialising in Private Client law within a recognised UK practice. STEP or Solicitors for the Elderly (SFE) qualification is highly desirable.

  • Caseload Management: End-to-end management of a diverse private client caseload, including Will drafting, Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs), Probate and complex Estate Administration, Declarations of Trust, and succession planning.

  • Client Care & Vulnerable Clients: Strong client relationship skills with experience advising elderly and vulnerable clients, including conducting off-site visits at homes or healthcare facilities across Kent when required.

  • Local Engagement & Mobility: Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across Kent and surrounding villages to meet clients and support regional business development.

  • Team & Practice Growth: Collaborative mindset with an appetite to mentor junior colleagues and identify cross-referral opportunities across complementary departments.

Package & Working Structure

  • Competitive Remuneration: £50,000 – £65,000 base compensation per annum (commensurate with PQE, technical expertise, and regional experience).

  • Agile Working: Modern hybrid working options providing a flexible balance between office and remote working.

  • Work-Life Balance & Leave: Generous annual leave entitlement plus bank holidays, supporting long-term work-life harmony.

  • Pension & Professional Development: Workplace pension scheme, paid professional subscriptions, and fully funded ongoing training (including support for STEP/SFE accreditation).

  • Culture & Progression: Clear internal pathways to Senior Associate level within a stable, supportive, and collaborative team environment.
