Job Description

Commercial Property Solicitor

Location: North London
Salary: £65,000–£80,000 per annum, depending on experience
Experience: 2–4 years’ PQE+
Working Pattern: Permanent, Full-time
Hybrid Working: Available

An ambitious and expanding North London law firm is seeking a Commercial Property Solicitor to join its growing Real Estate team.

This opportunity would suit a qualified Solicitor with approximately two to four years’ PQE who is confident managing commercial property transactions independently but still values accessible supervision, close Partner contact and continued professional development.

You will work directly alongside an experienced Partner, managing transactions from instruction through to completion while developing trusted relationships with the firm’s clients. The position offers meaningful autonomy, genuine exposure to senior decision-makers and the opportunity to contribute to the continued growth of the department.

The Role

You will manage a varied Commercial Property caseload, including:

  • Acquisitions and disposals of commercial property
  • Acting for landlords and tenants on new leases
  • Lease renewals, assignments and variations
  • Licences to assign, alter or underlet
  • General landlord and tenant matters
  • Drafting and reviewing contracts, leases and associated documentation
  • Managing property searches, enquiries and due diligence
  • Progressing transactions through exchange and completion
  • Handling post-completion formalities
  • Liaising with clients, agents, lenders, opposing solicitors and other professional advisers
  • Maintaining accurate and compliant file records
  • Managing competing priorities and transactional deadlines effectively
  • Delivering a consistently responsive and professional service to clients

You will have responsibility for your own transactions while working within a team that provides practical support and sensible supervision.

About You

To be considered for this position, you should have:

  • Qualified as a Solicitor in England and Wales
  • Approximately two to four years’ PQE in Commercial Property
  • Recent experience gained within a UK Legal Practice
  • Experience managing commercial property transactions from instruction through to completion
  • Experience acting on commercial acquisitions, disposals and leases
  • A sound understanding of landlord and tenant matters
  • Strong drafting, negotiation and communication skills
  • The confidence to manage direct client relationships
  • Excellent organisation and attention to detail
  • The ability to meet transactional and regulatory deadlines
  • A dependable, proactive and collaborative approach
  • The ability to work independently while recognising when guidance is required

Experience using LEAP or a comparable legal case-management system would be advantageous but is not essential.

The Opportunity

The successful candidate will join a progressive and people-focused firm where individual contributions are visible and professional development is actively supported.

The role offers:

  • A salary of £65,000–£80,000, depending on experience
  • Responsibility for a varied Commercial Property caseload
  • Close day-to-day contact with an experienced Partner
  • Genuine access to senior Partners and business leaders
  • Direct client exposure from the outset
  • Accessible supervision without unnecessary restrictions on autonomy
  • The opportunity to contribute to the development of a growing team
  • Hybrid working and flexibility around where you work most effectively
  • Long-term career progression as the practice continues to expand
  • A collaborative working environment where ideas and contributions are recognised

Benefits

The benefits package includes:

  • 25 days’ annual leave, plus bank holidays
  • Your birthday off
  • Annual leave increasing with length of service
  • Private medical insurance through Vitality
  • Medicash healthcare cash plan
  • Employee Assistance Programme available to employees and family members
  • Enhanced family-friendly and wellbeing policies
  • Salary-sacrifice workplace pension through NEST
  • Hybrid working arrangements
  • Employee referral bonuses
  • Free fruit and drinks
  • Regular team lunches
