Commercial Litigation Senior Associate

Location: Altrincham

Salary: £75,000 to £95,000 (depending on experience)

Experience: 7–10 years’ PQE

Our client is looking to recruit a Senior Associate into a leading specialist Commercial Litigation team. You will support Partners and senior colleagues while also running your own matters across a broad range of business disputes, with real scope to mentor juniors and contribute to the continued growth of the practice.

This role offers a strong mix of complex, interesting disputes and day-to-day advisory work for SME and owner-managed business clients. You will be trusted with responsibility, supported by experienced colleagues, and encouraged to develop your profile through practice development and cross-referrals.

 

What You’ll Be Doing

• Managing your own caseload of commercial litigation and dispute resolution matters

• Supporting Partners and senior team members on larger, complex disputes

• Advising clients on strategy, risk and commercial outcomes, providing clear and practical guidance

• Handling a range of matters including:

• Commercial and contractual disputes

• Company and shareholder disputes

• Partnership disputes

• Professional negligence matters

• IP and IT disputes

• Commercial agents claims

• Insolvency litigation

• Banking claims

• Search orders and urgent applications

• Injunctive relief

• Franchise disputes

• Defamation and reputation management

• Building and maintaining strong client relationships, staying responsive to urgent requirements

• Supervising and mentoring junior team members

• Contributing to practice development and supporting the wider growth of the department and firm

 

What We’re Looking For

• Qualified Solicitor (England and Wales) with 7–10 years’ PQE (or equivalent experience) in commercial litigation

• Strong experience gained within a national or leading regional firm

• Broad disputes experience and confidence managing your own caseload

• Experience advising SME and owner-managed business clients

• Strong communication skills and a client-first approach

• Comfortable supervising and mentoring junior colleagues

• Collaborative working style and strong matter management skills
