Private Client Solicitor (3–7 PQE)
Salary: £50,000–£70,000+ DOE
Location: Berkhamsted Area (high-quality work + progression)

Based in the Berkhamsted area, you’ll join an established Private Client function with a strong local reputation and a steady flow of quality instructions.
The Role: Private Client
You’ll manage a varied caseload and provide clear, pragmatic advice to clients across the full Private Client lifecycle.
Typical work includes:
- Wills (including more complex instructions as you develop)
- Probate and estate administration
- LPAs (property & financial affairs / health & welfare)
- Trusts and basic trust administration
- Inheritance Tax planning and succession advice (depending on experience)
What you’ll be doing day-to-day:
- Running files from instruction to completion with appropriate supervision
- Drafting documents and advising clients with empathy and clarity
- Building strong relationships that generate repeat work and referrals
- Supporting team collaboration and contributing to a positive, professional culture
- Developing your capability towards Senior Associate level (where applicable)
Requirements (Please read carefully)
Our client is ideally looking for:
- Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales
- 6–7 years’ PQE in Private Client within a UK legal practice
They will also consider:
- 3–4 years’ PQE where you have strong pre-qualification Private Client experience (e.g., a Private Client training seat/paralegal background) and can demonstrate solid technical grounding.
You’ll ideally have experience in:
- Wills, probate and estate administration
- LPAs
- Client-facing advisory work with strong attention to detail
Desirable (not essential):
- Exposure to trusts and IHT planning
- STEP qualification (or interest in working towards it)
