The Opportunity

As an Audit Manager, you will take responsibility for managing audit assignments from planning through to completion, ensuring the delivery of a high-quality service to clients across a broad range of sectors.

You will work closely with Partners and Directors, acting as a trusted advisor to clients whilst leading and developing junior members of the audit team.

 

Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

  • Leading and managing multiple audit assignments from planning through to completion.
  • Acting as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the audit process.
  • Reviewing audit work and ensuring compliance with regulatory and professional standards.
  • Managing audit budgets, timelines, resource allocation and profitability.
  • Supervising, coaching and mentoring Audit Seniors and junior team members.
  • Reviewing financial statements prepared under FRS 102 and IFRS.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve client service delivery and operational efficiency.
  • Building and maintaining strong long-term client relationships.
  • Supporting business development initiatives and identifying opportunities for additional services.
  • Working closely with Directors and Partners to ensure successful delivery of engagements.

 

About You

To be successful in this role you will possess:

Essential Requirements

  • ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent recognised qualification).
  • Minimum 4-6 years' UK Practice experience within audit and accounts.
  • At least 2 years' experience operating at Audit Manager or Senior Audit Manager level.
  • Strong technical knowledge of:
    • UK GAAP
    • FRS 102
    • IFRS
    • UK auditing standards and regulatory requirements
  • Proven experience managing a client portfolio and overseeing multiple engagements simultaneously.
  • Strong team leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and client-facing communication abilities.
  • Commercial awareness with experience managing budgets and engagement profitability.
  • Full right to work within the UK.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience using CCH Audit Automation, CCH Accounts Production, Inflo, or similar audit software.
  • Experience working with owner-managed businesses and mid-market corporate clients.
  • Exposure to group audits and consolidated financial statements.
