Our client, a highly respected accountancy and business advisory firm within a leading UK professional services group, is seeking an Audit Semi Senior to join their Manchester office. This is an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified ACA or ACCA professional who is looking to develop their audit career in an environment that genuinely invests in training, development and long-term progression.
Working alongside experienced Audit Managers, Senior Managers and Directors, you will gain exposure to a broad range of clients while continuing your professional studies and building the skills required for future promotion.
The Opportunity
As an Audit Semi Senior, you will play a key role in supporting audit assignments from planning through to completion. Working as part of a collaborative audit team, you will assist in delivering high-quality audit services while developing your technical and commercial knowledge.
You will have the opportunity to take increasing responsibility for audit engagements, support junior team members and build strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting audit assignments both on-site and remotely.
- Assisting in the planning, execution and completion of audit fieldwork.
- Ensuring audit work complies with firm procedures, regulatory requirements and auditing standards.
- Preparing audit documentation and working papers to a high professional standard.
- Contributing to audit findings and identifying key risks and control weaknesses.
- Assisting with the preparation and review of financial statements.
- Developing and maintaining positive client relationships throughout engagements.
- Supporting and mentoring Audit Juniors where appropriate.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across audit, accounts, tax and advisory teams.
- Continuously developing technical knowledge and professional skills.
About You
Essential Requirements
- Part-qualified ACA or ACCA with active progression towards qualification.
- 2-4 years of UK Practice experience within audit and accounts.
- Experience working on statutory audits for a range of clients.
- Good understanding of:
- UK GAAP
- FRS 102
- IFRS
- UK auditing standards
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and client relationship management abilities.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
Desirable Skills
- Experience using CaseWare, CCH, or similar audit software.
- Exposure to owner-managed businesses, SMEs and corporate clients.
- Experience reviewing junior team members' work.
- Knowledge of emerging audit and compliance regulations.
